| CAMPAIGN SUMMARY | ||
| My name is Alex Ramos. I currently sail 420s for my highschool sailing team, and through out the year daily. I have been sailing for about 9 years, and have sailed on a variety of boats. The training I have recieved included clinics for the USNT and USNDT for optis, and other opti and 420 clinics over the years. Some of the boats i have sailed/competed on include the FJ, 420, Optimist, Vanguard, J22, J24, Etchell, Benatoe, Kirby 25, Comet, Hobie 16, etc. In many of these boats, i have competed as both helm and crew. I have used opportunities in sailing in these boats to broaden my horizon and get experience in bigger boats. My goals include sailing for the naval academy sailing team, and eventually representing my country at the Olympics in 2012 in London. I also want to sail in multiple offshore regattas as the Volvo Ocean Race. In the Optimist class, I have won countless regettas in Maryland; I won highpoint in 2007, and got 2nd in highpoint in 2008. In 2008 I got 3rd place at Opti nationals and 15th (tied) at Opti Team Trials. At the Easter regetta in Holland i got 10th. Starting in the 420 class, my crew and I got 7th at Midatlantics in West River 08\\\'. |
