| Alex Smith is the V15 fleet captain on the Great South Bay and a Jr. rep. for the GSBYRA. I actively races Vanguard 15's, Lasers, and race Narrasketucks during the spring and fall. I race Lasers all winter and into early spring in El Toro's. I am an instructor at Narrasketuck Yacht Club in Amityville NY and offer coaching in a wide variety of age groups and classes. I am First Aid & USSAILING certified instructor, couch and counseler specializing in race instruction at Narrasketuck Yacht Club. In addition I offer private lessons training people in racing tactics and water conditions and run a small business for boat repairs and brokerage. In recent years, I have been named GSBYRA V15 Fleet Champion for 2010 (skipper), NODA National Class Champion 2010 (crew), and numerous other top place finishes. I was also USSAILING Sailor of thee week June 2010 for my leadership and commitment to one design sailing. |
