CAMPAIGN SUMMARY
I\'m Russell Miller, currently a senior at URI in Ocean Engineering and have been completely hooked on 505 sailing by my best friend Mike Coe. Mike and I grew up together and spent our summers on the water in Annapolis MD. Although always close to the water, I didn\'t begin competitive sailing until my senior year of high school. I\'ve had an interesting few years since then and have worked as a sailmaker for five years and often sail keelboats as a mastman, pit, or trimmer.

My childhood best friend convinced me to split a 505 with him the winter of 2006. Since then we\'ve never looked back.

The program is the textbook version of a shoestring budget, yet we seem to have fun and give the guys with all the right equipment a run for their money.

The goal with this site is to organize the logistics of our sailing to make campaigning the boat easier, provide for a way to communicate with friends and family that support us, and to lay the foundation for fundraising and sponsorship.

Our goals within the class are to be the top Under 25 team, and to be contenders on a national and world level, winning championships within 3 years. Thanks for your interest and I hope we can continue to share our love for the sport with you.
LATEST BLOG ENTRY

Posted By: Russell ••••••DATE: March 16, 2009

Its my last spring break in college, and I've finally found the time to start this sailing blog. I've been working through my mind to try and develop an idea of what this will turn into. Sorry for the delay to get started.

We've had a busy winter and spring and look forward to catching you all up on what Mike and I have been up to. We'll mostly cover our 505 exploits but will also include news on other sailing in our lives.

Upcoming posts will include FD worlds in Napier, New Zealand, 505 Midwinters at Ft Desoto State Park, some thoughts on logistics, and spring training this week out of Yale Corinthian YC in New Haven CT.

Thanks for stopping by. Be sure to leave any questions or comments and I'll do my best to address them.
