My name is Grace Adam and I am 15 years old, from East Greenwich, RI. I have been sailing my whole entire life. I started out crewing for my father on a JY15 when I was about 7 years old. Then I moved on to racing Opti's, In my past 2 years sailing them I have become a very accomplished sailor, finishing 1st in almost all of my local regattas and placed 11th at the Atlantic Coast Championships this past fall. I have struggled with concussions throughout my sailing career but I have taken time off and I enjoy sailing now more than ever. This spring I started High School Sailing and it has helped me transition from the Opti to the Club 420. In the middle of June 2011 I participated in the Brooke Gonzales clinic and I learned more than I could of ever imagined. I am practicing or working on my boat almost every day with my crew Kaylie Walsh. Some goals we have are to be the top woman 420 team in the country by the end of next year and to go to learn more and more every time we go sailing. My family recently bought a 29er, even though I have yet to go on it I am hoping my crew and I can begin to learn how to use it and eventually be going to the Olympics in the 29er XX rig/boat.
