Had a great time at the Elvestrom-Zellerbach (EZ) Regatta at St Francis YC. It was delayed both mornings about an hour because of strong current not enough wind, but the wind got going quickly and pretty much blew 15-20 the hole time we were racing, both days.
Paul Elvestrom is the guy who said "You haven't won the race, if in winning the race you have lost the respect of your competitors." That quote is over the door of the office at the PYSF Sailing Center, so I see it all the time. good words.
Christine Neville pretty much dominated the laser radial class with all bullets. She is leaving soon for Worlds in Germany, good luck!!!!
My friend and fellow Clever Pig team member Lola Bushnell and I were neck and neck until the last race where she passed one guy at the end and beat me by one point, good competition, well sailed. So she was second and I third. Out of 17 radials. I posted a picture in my photos where you can see the full rigs out closer to the bridge and the radials heading out there.
it was a little crazy the first day with the kiteboarders on the same course, the next day they started later, so that was better.
Next up a clinc with Steve Bourdow tomorrow then the next weekend the first BAYS Regatta at PYSF. Looks to be windy again.
OH yes I want to thank the St Francis YC Sailing Foundation for giving me a grant to go to the Laser US Nationals in Texas end of this month. It pretty much covered my flight out so thanks so much!!! We have lola, Lindsey, lawson and I going from San Francisco YC with Andy Casey our coach bringing the boats and coaching along and Lola's Dad chaperoning. Thanks!!!
One more thing, I qualified to go to US Sailing's Youth Champs at the gorge this summer! So I'll be sailing there 2x this summer once for North americans and that. YEAH one of my favorite places to sail, next to SF Bay that is.
