CAMPAIGN SUMMARY
Stephanie is from Winnetka, IL and is currently 18 years old. She began sailing when she was five years old, but not competitively until she was nine. She grew up spending her summers on Lake Beulah in Wisconsin and enrolling in sailing school classes at the Lake Beulah Sailing School. A charter member of the Midwest Optimist Sailing Team (MOST), Steph competed in many ILYA and USODA regattas, qualifying for USNDT, USNT, and the US International Team.

After Optimists, she joined the Chicago Yacht Club and became a member of its Club 420 Racing Team. Stephanie has competed in Optimists, X-boats, MC scows, Laser Radials, Vanguard 15s, 29ers, high school & Club 420s, International 420s, and 470s. She is presently Junior Commodore of CYC and co-captain of her New Trier HS Sailing Team.

Rebecca is from Santa Monica, CA and is currently 18 years old. She has competed in Laser Radials, 29ers, CFJs, high school & Club 420s, and International 420s.

Stephanie and Rebecca started sailing together in November of 2008. Their first clinics together were the 2008 CISA Thanksgiving Clinic and the North & Central American and Caribbean 420 Coaches Seminar, both sailed in International 420s. Their first regatta together was the 2008 Orange Bowl Regatta, sailed in Club 420s, where they finished 4th out of 113 entries.

WINNERS OF THE 2009 US SAILING CLUB 420 YOUTH CHAMPIONSHIP

Over the 2009 winter, Stephanie and Rebecca decided to split ways despite excellent teamwork. Being too small for the 470 proved too great an issue to overcome.
In January 2010, Stephanie and Perry Emsiek began training together and will compete in the Miami Olympic Classes Regatta (OCR).

It's been a while!!!
Happy New Year everyone!

So just a quick update on sailing plans for this year. Rebecca and I decided that although we were a good team, we are definitely too small to sail 470s together... So last week I started training with a new crew, Perry Emsiek. We sailed in a clinic down in Miami run by Elizabeth Kratzig. It was Perry's first time in a 470, but t went well! We are both north of Miami now, back at school. Perry goes to College of Charleston, and I'm back in Boston for classes which start on Tuesday. I then fly back down to Miami after classes on Thursday, and Perry will meet me down there for some training days before OCR starts. The regatta runs January 24-30 out of the US Sailing Center in Martin County.
