Now rarely to I rant about gracious host but I feel like in the town of Largs, us sailors are seen a cash cows that need poaching. After being asked 3 or 4 times by our B&B owners if we had ‘sponsors’ we over heard them putting up their prices for other visitors at arrival citing how busy they were. Our B&B has six available rooms containing up to 9 people all have to share the same bathroom without adequate water pressure.
Additionally the host yacht club has the nerve to not only charge us for ‘early’ charter (which is expected) but to ask that we pay to launch the boats as well. They claim this is because of the excess cleaning and heating fees for the locker rooms. Forgive me but isn’t this the responsibility of the hosts Furthermore the limited showers have only two temperature ice cold and scorching hot making the line for the shower at the B&B seem like a better option. Although the people at face value are friendly and helpful every time we turn around there is an additional ‘fee.’
I am feeling like an endangered species with them trying to take as much money off of us as possible until there is nothing left.
