My name is William Livernois and I have been a competitive sailor since I was 8 years old. I started out my sailing career in the Opti, and, after a few years in the boat, joined the USDT and USNT Opti teams and represented the US at several sailing events including South Americans (Salinas, Ecuador), Braassemermeer Easer Regatta (Lake Braassemermeer, Netherlands), Flanders Youth Regatta (Nieuwpoort, Belgium), and Marco Rizotti Trofeo (Venice, Italy). After aging out of the Opti, I started my sailing career in the Laser Radial and 4.7. I joined the Lauderdale Yacht Club sailing team and began rigorous training with Olympic-class coaches such as Brad Funke, Anna Tunnacliffe, and Luke Lawrence. CleverPig and Lauderdale Yacht Club sponsored me at 4.7 Worlds in San Francisco last summer, and I had a truly amazing experience representing the US at such a large world-class event. I still sail with Lauderdale Yacht Club and I hope to earn enough Grand Prix points to represent the US at the Youth Worlds in Australia next year!
