J/24 Racing in stonington.

First for the day

Overcast, 8-10 knots, storms predicted for the afternoon.

Sailed with tucker bragdon, lindsey gimple, luke hatton, and matt paige today. I drove. Very poor turn out today only 3 24's today which was a little dissapionting but what can one do. At least we were there. Noticed in the first race when we rounded in second that our crew work was fantastic and we were able to slip into first because of our better set and our ability to gybe in front of the guy in first at the gybe (had to round the start/finish.) Figuring out that one needs to trim the main really quick around marks/ starts/ etc. Gotta know the time to the line. An over early call in the last race was not good. I wanted to hit the line at speed but wasent worth it in the end because we were over! O well. Also noticed our tacks were getting better. Probally enough wind today to cross sheet. Better figure out when is a good time to transition. Have to work on crew work and boatspeed! Anyways it was a good day.
